Zachary Ford is a Kansas City based actor, singer and physical comedian who works regularly on both coasts, on stage and on TV. He sang Diesel on the San Francisco Symphony's Grammy-nominated West Side Story, and StageSceneLA named him its L.A. Stage Star of the Year for his work at La Mirada Theatre, 3-D Theatricals and Musical Theatre Guild.
His stage work runs from Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Drury Lane Oakbrook to Musical Theatre West, Arizona Theatre Company and the Las Vegas company of Spamalot. In Kansas City he has played the title role in Sweeney Todd at Music Theater Heritage, Mr. Green in Clue, and appeared in Newsies at Starlight. Critics single out the same thing again and again: the laughs.
He has helped develop new musicals from the ground up, in early workshops and original casts of Heathers, Loving Repeating, Empire Burlesque, iGhost and Bumpersticker. He is also a teacher: as a professor at Studio School Los Angeles he taught Golden Age musical theatre and guitar, and brought students into professional regional productions. He is the manager of Tinseltones KC, Kansas City's caroling company. Offstage he plays guitar, mandolin and ukulele, narrates audiobooks, builds things out of wood, and is a dad.
